SOROLLA THROUGH LIGHT. FROM TRADITION TO MODERNITY

May 30 to october 13, 2025

The exhibition “Sorolla Through Light. From Tradition to Modernity” stands as one of the major cultural milestones of 2025 in Castilla y León. Conceived as an ambitious and multidisciplinary project, the exhibition features 40 original works by Joaquín Sorolla, accompanied by traditional jewelry and folk costumes, under the curatorship of Alicia Vallina and Concepción Fernández.

Light Art Exhibitions is proud to contribute to this project with the production of the multisensory section, offering a deeper look into the emotional side of Joaquín Sorolla. The brushwork of the “painter of light” shines once again in a unique, immersive setting that showcases the flexibility and adaptability of the exhibition as it engages in dialogue with new interpretations of the Valencian painter’s work.

The sensory experience unfolds in a 120 m² room surrounded by ultra-high-definition LED multipanels that cover the entire perimeter. Hundreds of moving images—derived from paintings, photographs, and documents—immerse the viewer in Sorolla’s universe, accompanied by an original, enveloping musical score composed specifically for this experience.

The virtual reality room transports visitors, as if through a time tunnel, to the era of Joaquín Sorolla. They will be able to explore iconic places such as the artist’s studio or walk alongside Clotilde and María on the beach of La Malvarrosa, within his painting Paseo a las Orillas del Mar.
